Kids drawing is a comprehensive introduction to the tools and techniques of the oldest form of art in the world.

We’ll cover pencil, charcoal and inking, with an emphasis on approachable and replicable techniques for artists of any age/skill level, such as hatching, contour lines, and negative space drawing.

Note on teaching philosophy: though this class that will give specific materials and challenges each week, all artists will be invited to draw what interests them, with few specifications beyond widely interpretable prompts. At the Art Retreat, we believe that all artists, particularly young ones, should be given space to explore their creativity and personal style without judgment.
